Fee Structure and Process

Professional Services Fee Structure

Melvin’s Travel Adventures provides professional travel planning services for the fees listed below.

To begin work, an upfront, non-refundable professional services fee is required. Once fee is paid in full, Melvin’s Travel Adventures will prepare quotes for the desired trip, book said trip (if desired), and support will be available throughout the trip should any issues be encountered, as agreed (for all components booked through Melvin's Travel Adventures).

Quotes will include all components of the desired trip (flights, hotels/resorts, tours, cruise, excursions, transfers, etc.). Where applicable and available, up to two options will be provided for flight schedules, hotels/resorts, tours, and cruises, unless a specific selection was provided to Melvin’s Travel Adventures beforehand. If needed, one additional quote will be provided at no charge.

This fee is separate from the cost of your trip. Fees will be good for a period of one year, after which time a new fee will need to be rendered to restart the process.

Professional Services Fee Structure:

Land Trips

• Domestic Trip Research, Detailed Itinerary & Booking (up to four adults): $150*
• International Trip Research, Detailed Itinerary & Booking (up to four adults): $200*
• Solo travelers: starting at $75* (depending on complexity/length of trip)

Cruises (Ocean & River)

• Cruise Only (up to four adults): $25*
• Cruise including pre-/post-hotels, flights and/or transfers (up to four adults): $75*

Itinerary Only/Book-on-Your-Own

• Want help figuring out your trip, but want to use points or miles to book everything? Or, do you need help coordinating planes, trains and automobiles to stay with friends overseas? I can help you with those things too! Rates starting at $200* (depending on complexity/length of trip).

*Additional guests or more extensive trips may incur additional charges.

**Groups of 8 or more will be negotiated at time of consult.

Additional Fees (as needed):

• Requote Fee: $50 (for each quote beyond the original two, at the discretion of Melvin’s Travel Adventures)
• Last-Minute Travel Fee (for travel within 60 days): $50
• Trip Change Fee: $100 (After booking is made.)
• Trip Cancellation Fee: $100 (This fee is in addition to supplier penalties.)

Fees are payable to Melvin’s Travel Adventures by debit, credit card or bank transfer via emailed invoice when Travel Services Agreement is signed and are charged per trip request. Professional Services Fees are non-refundable, not transferrable and are due regardless of final booking completion. This fee is separate from the cost of your trip.

Note: Melvin’s Travel Adventures’ cancellation fees are separate from the supplier’s cancellation fees. Supplier policies regarding cancellation fees will be relayed in your trip proposal. Cancellation requests must be made in writing and cancellation fees must be paid by emailed invoice in order for Melvin’s Travel Adventures to move forward with cancellation of trip components.
